Manifestations  (After Eli Argüello and Félix González-Torres) (2025)

Dimensions Variable | Pigments and etching on repurposed wood

“Please take some coasters on the pedestal home, or give it to someone you love!”
Wooden quilts based on contracts, memories and images I made with friends. I have been exploring the life cycle of materials: how might we view art objects as temporal structures, evolving along with its physical history? What remains in the aftermath of a home? Installation art is an inherently ephemeral medium, for it comes together for a limited time, then come apart again. I am interested in installations as living, temporal beings—with lifespans, transitions, and potential for reincarnation. Rather than permanent monuments, they are entities that evolve and return in new contexts, carrying with them both their history and a renewed sense of presence.

Throughout 2025, I worked with the same wood that had its past lives as a theatrical set, a projection surface for three-channel installation, and, so far, as a wooden quilt and piles of coasters meant to be handed out to audience.

Communal, personal, communal again.
