The Shape Between Two Shapes (After Rachel Mannheimer) (2023)
In this series of studies, I took inspiration from the forms of riverbeds and strung together vignettes from the archive of Lake Lagunita to create a bed of images from the lake. I’ve been trying to compartmentalize and frame different moments of the lake together. The lake transforms autonomously, and I was simply a bystander in its process. I experimented with the motif of threading together fragments and vignettes, to stitch together assemblage/ephemera of memories of the lake that I haven’t fully processed, the shapes of solastalgia, of eco-grief.
