Three sisters try their best to live in a rapidly shrinking world in Three States of Matter, a devised movement adaptation of Three Sisters exploring climate migration and immobility.

Originally written and set at the turn of the 20th century of a Russia less than a decade away from revolution, Three Sisters explores questions of how to find meaning in everyday life within shifting and uncertain landscapes. Our modern-day, movement-based rendition places the Prozorovs in a landscape of coastal flooding, where the world is literally shrinking under their feet.

Run time: 65min

Installation shot of a collaborative set/installation designed in Three States of Matter, a devised movement adaptation of Anton Chekov’s Three Sisters exploring climate migration and immobility. The floors and walls come apart and reconfigure, becoming more claustrophobic over the course of 65 minutes run time.
